What to know before visiting Virgen Gorda ...

Virgen Gorda is an Island you can get there from the Cruise Ship, by a privet boat or a Tour Boat. I will suggest you a Tour Boat this Island is far from Tortola plus probably the privet boat will leave you at the ocean and then you have to swim to land plus walk up to pay the entrance.

Probably the Tour Cruise have their port at Virgen Gorda so they will leave you at the entrance from Baths with a taxi. Read Cruise Ship Tour itinerary small information you will see swimming.

Also, you have to be fit to climb the rocks and tiny entrance between the rocks if you are not a healthy person or don't have the agility to climb stairs and rocks do not book this tour.

Just Van Dyke Island is a Party Island with a bar and great beach.

Anegada Island is more solitude and exclusivity great for scuba diving and snorkeling but far away from Tortola Cruise Port, I will not recommend going there without a Tour Cruise.

How to do Island Hopping

From Puerto Rico or USA, I recommend flying to St. Thomas Island from there you will pay a Ferry to BVI - British Virgin Island with Passport or Visa in hand. We are going from American territory to British. You need to do the Immigration Custom paper online 36hrs prior to arrival.

From Tortola is the Main base Island or St. Thomas Island you will choose how to Hop the Island. You can rent a privet boat or charter, or you can take the Ferries to each of these Island like Anegada, Virgen Gorda, Red Hook, St.Jhon, Beef Island & Peter Island. Not all Island have Ferries like Just Van Dyke.

  My BVI Tour

What I saw on the Tour?

Gain an understanding of Tortola’s history with a special focus on Road Town while riding a bus from landmark to landmark. Commentary will describe the attractions as you pass by or stop at them for in-depth looks.

You will see the stately post office built in 1906, Sunday Morning Well – the site where a proclamation freeing resident slave was read in 1834 – and hilltop Fort Burt, a colonial British-built fortress that has been converted into a hotel. The cannons on the balcony are original.

Although you will drive by the Sugar Works Museum, you will browse the Old Government House Museum and the H.M. Prison Museum, a building with 20-inch-thick walls that served as Tortola’s prison for more than 200 years. The mood will be quite a bit lighter as you stroll through the J.R. O’Neal Botanic Gardens, an oasis with an extensive collection of exotic palms and orchids. Price $179.00 per person (Info from NCL web)
